Improving Economy Making Remodelers Happy

Are consumers feeling more confident about spending? Are they feeling more comfortable investing dollars in the Commercial Construction and Residential Construction markets? According to the NAHB, they are! In fact, the numbers are showing it. First quarter results were making home remodelers feel pretty good. The good news is, second quarter results were even a bit better!

The National Association of Home Builders, also known as the NAHB, found that the Remodeling Market Index (RMI), rose from 53 to 56. In addition, an index, which looks at future business trends also rose from 52 to 56.

There are several factors that go into the future index: these include calls for bids, amount of contracted work for the next ninety days, backlog of jobs, and proposal appointments.

The NAHB also cited rising employment rates as a factor in the improving economy and the residential market.
